South Sudan was supposed to be the most brilliant brainchild of Western interventionism. Most brilliant and innocent, not like the other disasters in Libya, Syrian civil war, Egypt… The folly of fools never learn.
True, the South Sudanese fought a twenty-year separation war from the North due to many factors, primarily that they were two completely different, linguistic and ethnic groups, illogically lumped together by the British decades ago. It was a conflict between Christian Black and Muslim Arabs.

Separation was unfortunately by far the very best solution at that time, but now we have a full blown PRC / US conflict about resources.

When does the PRC army show up? They have the overwhelming interest in Sudanese oil fields. There’s oil in South Sudan so it’s a safe bet that The American, British and French governments will soon be advocating intervention,”for humanitarian purposes” of course.
